Kappa is taking inspiration from one of anime’s most iconic series with a new Naruto Shippuden capsule, created in collaboration with French sneaker retailer Courir. The collection merges anime culture, streetwear, and retro football aesthetics into something that feels genuinely considered rather than just a licensed cash-in.
The timing makes sense. Football jerseys have become a serious part of everyday style, with vintage silhouettes, bold sponsor graphics, and fictional club energy all feeding into the broader streetwear conversation. This capsule leans into all of that, treating each piece like a real kit designed for a team from the Naruto universe.
The collection spans several jersey designs, each tied to a specific character, clan, or technique. A cream and burgundy shirt nods to fire-style energy with flame graphics along the sleeves and hem, plus a crest-style badge on the chest. A black and red vertical-striped design pulls Sharingan imagery into a layout that looks like it came straight from a late-’90s kit archive.
A white and blue jersey gives Naruto’s signature move the sponsor treatment with “Rasengan” branding across the front. A coral and navy option brings a lighter energy into the mix, while a black and yellow shirt references Kurama with “KYUBI” lettering on the chest and star detailing near the badge. Rounding out the lineup are a grey and navy shirt with Japanese text and football-inspired graphics, and a sand-toned Gaara jersey with a black collar, red accents, and bold chest branding.
What makes the capsule work is that it doesn’t just slap anime imagery onto standard shapes. The badge placements, sleeve taping, contrast collars, and archival silhouettes are all handled with the kind of care that makes each piece feel like a legitimate kit rather than merchandise. Kappa’s sportswear DNA keeps everything grounded while the Naruto references give it genuine cultural weight.
