Salomon just announced a Japan-exclusive version of the ACS Pro called the “Nami Pack,” and it’s one of those releases that feels genuinely thoughtful. It pulls from the brand’s technical 2000s roots while weaving in traditional Japanese artistic influences.
The design takes its cues from Japanese wave motifs, blending the iconic imagery of Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” with the visual rhythm of digital sound waves. The color palette leans into washed indigo, white, and black: a nod to traditional indigo-dyed textiles that gives the whole shoe a grounded, cultural weight. Wave-pattern tongue labels and custom insole graphics carry the theme all the way through, so the details hold up even when you look closer.
On the construction side, durable Kurim overlays sit alongside breathable mesh side panels on the upper. The sole setup brings together Salomon’s Agile Chassis™ System with an EnergyCell™+ midsole for cushioning and stability, while an OrthoLite insole adds comfort and breathability for everyday wear. The outsole uses All Terrain Contagrip® technology, giving solid grip across wet and dry surfaces.
The “Nami Pack” retails at ¥33,000 JPY (around $210 USD) and is available exclusively through Salomon JP starting May 15. For more updates on drops like this, stay tuned to VZN.
