Kiko Kostadinov has dropped the first look at its Season 5 ASICS Novalis sneaker via Instagram, and it is already turning heads. The preview gives a clear signal that this chapter of the ongoing collaboration is leaning into something more experimental and textural than what came before.
The campaign visuals were shot by British photographers Jason Evans and Brendan Barry at Positive Light Projects in Exeter. The two brought a distinctly hands-on approach to the shoot, working with large-format photography techniques that included self-made cameras and monochrome paper negatives. The result is a set of images that feel raw and unpredictable, which lines up perfectly with the collection’s core themes of improvisation and serendipity. Nothing here feels overly polished or calculated, and that is kind of the point.
The sneaker itself appears to be a new take on the Gel-Teremoa, reworked within the signature Novalis silhouette. The most noticeable shift is the armor-like aesthetic it takes on in this iteration, giving it a more structural and almost sculptural quality compared to previous seasons. The focus on experimental textures throughout the collection adds another layer of depth to what is already a visually distinctive release.
Season 5 is set to kick off on May 14, 2026, with the initial drop happening exclusively at the Kiko Kostadinov flagship store in Los Angeles. If the campaign imagery is anything to go by, this one is going to be worth keeping a close eye on as more details roll out.
