Steven Smith is no stranger to innovation in the footwear world. Known for his impressive work with big names like Nike and YEEZY, he’s been shaping iconic sneaker designs for the past four decades. Now, as the Head of Innovation Design and Executive Vice President at Crocs, Smith is once again making waves with a fresh take on the classic clog.
Enter the Crocs Ripple, a futuristic design that has quickly become a topic of conversation, thanks in part to its resemblance to the stylish FOAM RUNNER, another of Smith’s past projects. The Ripple wasn’t an overnight success; it took about nine months to morph from concept to reality. Surprisingly, only three major adjustments were needed along the way—a testament to Smith’s expertise and vision.
Initially launched in limited editions at ComplexCon and Flight Club Miami during Art Basel, the Ripple has now introduced its newest colorway, “Retro Ice/Lime Burst.” Staying true to the limited-release trend, this vibrant design is available exclusively at the Crocs SoHo store in New York City, located at 543 Broadway, as of today, Feb. 19.
