Amazon MGM Studios is making headlines with the production of its new Tomb Raider series for Prime Video, capturing everyone’s attention with a sneak peek of Sophie Turner stepping into the iconic role of Lara Croft. This fresh series brings to life the beloved video game classic that follows the next-level escapades of an audacious archaeologist and explorer.
In addition to Turner, the cast features Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Lara’s reliable tech guru and friend; Jason Isaacs portraying Atlas DeMornay, Lara’s uncle; and Bill Paterson taking on the role of Winston, the devoted Croft family butler. The series also introduces Jack Bannon as Gerry, Lara’s pilot, and John Heffernan as David, a government official. Adding layers to the story are Celia Imrie as Francine from the British Museum, Paterson Joseph as Thomas Warner, a senior official, and Sasha Luss as a competitor named Sasha.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge, celebrated for her work on Fleabag, is the mastermind behind this series, serving as creator, writer, and executive producer. Working alongside her is Chad Hodge as co-showrunner and executive producer, with direction by Jonathan Van Tulleken. This collaboration draws from the talents of Amazon MGM Studios, alongside production houses like Crystal Dynamics and Legendary Television.
