50 Cent is making a big splash in Shreveport, Louisiana, with his company, G-Unit Film and Television, investing a substantial $124 million to breathe new life into several entertainment venues. Announced on January 12, this redevelopment initiative, in collaboration with Louisiana Economic Development, marks a significant step towards transforming the city’s cultural landscape.
The ambitious plan includes revamping the former Stageworks facility into a hub for live events and production. Additionally, there’s a massive upgrade in store for the Millennium Studios campus, which 50 Cent leased from the city in 2023. Millennium Studios, now branded as G-Unit Studios, will serve as a top-notch filming location. A dome-style immersive venue and a green space park are also in the works, enhancing the city’s entertainment offerings.
“This project reflects my commitment to Shreveport and Louisiana,” 50 Cent emphasizes. By revitalizing downtown Shreveport and enhancing these facilities, the city is set to become a magnet for job creation and a hotspot for film, music, and live entertainment. The state is contributing up to $50 million in funding for infrastructure improvements, making this revitalization a joint effort.
50 Cent expressed his excitement on Instagram, reinforcing his vision for Shreveport’s bright future as an entertainment powerhouse.
In December 2023, he secured a 30-year lease for the Millennium Studios, positioning it as a key location for his projects and beyond. Come summer 2024, Shreveport will host the Humor & Harmony Weekend, packed with star-studded events.
