This December, adidas Originals teams up with Brain Dead for a fresh capsule collection that taps into early 2000s sports and video game vibes. Building on their previous collaborations, the duo delves deep into themes like tennis, Japanese wrestling, and classic adidas designs. This release takes things further, offering apparel, footwear, accessories, and some unique collectibles.
The collection’s aesthetic leans heavily on iconic sportswear and circuit-inspired visuals from the Y2K era. Reflective silvers and sculpted panels nod to the adidas archives, while Brain Dead’s graphics and custom crests create a cohesive, eye-catching theme across all pieces.
Key items in this capsule include a Japanese Noragi-inspired Climacool track top with matching pants, a metallic football jersey with shorts, and a bold, print-heavy goalkeeper jersey. Additional pieces like a t-shirt and another track set ensure the lineup’s versatility. The cohesive graphic treatment and crest branding by Brain Dead tie everything together seamlessly.
To top it off, accessories like a sling bag and beanie echo the collection’s reflective and graphic motifs, blending style with function.
On the footwear side, two standout adidas silhouettes are front and center. The Climacool 2, originally introduced in 2003, returns with metallic vents, green mesh, and pops of yellow, showcasing Brain Dead’s unique touch. The Taekwondo Mei Brain Dead offers a sleek look with its black upper, white stripes, and off-white outsole.
Rounding out the capsule are two collectible figures inspired by retro video game culture. These pieces embody Brain Dead’s surreal aesthetic and won’t hit standard shelves. Instead, these will be exclusively available via a raffle on CONFIRMED, available while the collection lasts.
The adidas Originals x Brain Dead collection drops on December 18 in limited quantities. Find it on CONFIRMED, select adidas stores, select retailers, and wearebraindead.com. For the latest updates and more, stay tuned to VZN.
