The collaboration between PLEASURES and ASICS is back in the spotlight with a fresh take on the GEL-NYC sneaker. This Los Angeles-based label has made waves with previous partnerships involving the GEL-NANDI OG and the GEL-LYTE III, and now, as Fall/Winter 2024 unfolds, they are bringing a new twist to the relatively new GEL-NYC silhouette, which made its debut just last year.
Teaser trailers have given a glimpse into the sneaker’s design, highlighting its intriguing color scheme. The base is crafted from a lavender ripstop material, providing a unique backdrop that pairs with vibrant orange overlays featuring prominently in the branding on the midfoot. Adding to the mix, a chocolate hue is introduced around the tongue, mudguard, and the GEL-backed sole unit, providing a rich contrast to the other colors. For branding, the traditional ASICS elements are present, accented with a distinctive “PLEASURES” marking at the toe area, showcasing the creative input from both collaborators.
This highly anticipated version of the GEL-NYC from PLEASURES and ASICS is set to be available on PLEASURES and through select retailers. The sneaker is expected to retail for around $140 USD. For sneaker enthusiasts looking to expand their collection, this release is slated for October 11, making it a notable addition to the series of collaborations between these two popular brands.
