Bottega Veneta is set to introduce a new fragrance collection, featuring five distinct scents. This marks the first major product release by Kering Beauté since its establishment in January 2023.
The creative direction behind this collection is led by Matthieu Blazy, the designer for Bottega Veneta. These perfumes are his initial foray into the world of fragrances. Despite being conceptualized in less than two years, the project highlights the brand’s elevated status, blending fine ingredients and exceptional craftsmanship to further broaden Bottega Veneta’s influence.
Blazy drew his inspiration from Venice, the birthplace of Bottega Veneta, known for its rich cross-cultural history. The refillable bottles in the collection are designed to resemble hand-blown Murano glass, a nod to the craft showcased in Blazy’s Fall 2024 show. The bottle designs mimic the fluid forms of the Venetian Lagoon and the brand’s own design language.
In addition, the gold-colored ring around the bottle’s neck reflects the work of Carlo Scarpa, a celebrated Venetian architect. The wooden caps, which are styled after the foundations of Venetian palazzos, come in various colors like red, ecru, and green, featuring a cork lining. The outer cardboard packaging is eco-friendly, free from glue and cellophane.
The bases of the bottles are crafted from Verde Saint Denis marble, traditionally used in Venetian churches and palazzos, and also featured in Bottega Veneta stores. The brand’s signature intrecciato leather weave is another design element Blazy incorporated into the fragrance development. Each scent in the collection contains at least two principal ingredients, which evolve when on the skin, with vetiver as a common component across all fragrances.
The fragrances carry evocative names like Come With Me, Acqua Sale, Colpo di Sole, Alchemie, and Déjà Minuit. They feature unique ingredient combinations such as Italian bergamot and French orris butter in Come With Me, and Spanish labdanum with Macedonian juniper oil in Acqua Sale. Colpo di Sole blends French Angelica oil with Moroccan orange blossom absolute, Alchemie includes Brazilian pink pepper and Somalian myrrh, and Déjà Minuit combines geranium from Madagascar with Guatemalan cardamom.
The collection will initially be available in around 100 Bottega Veneta stores, focusing on locations in Western countries, parts of Asia, and online. A more extensive release is planned for April 2025, particularly targeting North Asia and the brand’s individual stores, which numbered 301 as of June. In Europe, a 100-ml bottle of eau de parfum is priced at 390 euros.
