This past weekend, Ye made headlines during an electrifying listening event in Haikou, China, where he unveiled plans for an upcoming album titled Bully. The event took place at the Wuyuan River Stadium, following the recent release of his collaborative album VULTURES 2 with artist Ty Dolla $ign.
Towards the end of his performance, Ye excitedly informed the audience about this new project, sharing, “I got a new album coming out. The album’s called Bully and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast.’” He treated attendees to a preview of the track, delivering a captivating rendition set against a smooth instrumental. The lyrics provided a glimpse into the album’s themes, touching on introspection and artistic expression: “I still think about it every night and day to try to stay away, to keep my audience / Don’t take this disrespect, I’m sitting here trying to redirect.”
Notably, long-time collaborator Mike Dean chimed in on Instagram, revealing that “Beauty and the Beast” was originally meant for Ye’s 2021 album Donda.
Ye later posted an image from the event on his Instagram account with a cryptic caption that simply read “BULLY,” although this post has since been deleted. As of now, there hasn’t been an official release date disclosed for the album.
As anticipation builds around Bully, fans and listeners will undoubtedly be eager for further updates regarding its release.
